Preparation and application of tricalcium phosphate_Industrial additives

Background and overview[1][2]

Tricalcium phosphate, also known as calcium phosphate, the calcium phosphate mineral Dow Corning Emulsion is widely distributed in geological structures and organisms, and is particularly widely distributed in living systems, from low-level single-cell organisms to advanced invertebrates and vertebrates , the existence of biological calcium phosphate minerals has been found. In the geological structure, it is mainly attached to other minerals in the form of fluorapatite as an accessory mineral; in organisms, such as prokaryotic organisms, amorphous calcium phosphate aggregates to form intracellular mineral nodules, which serve as calcium and phosphate ions. The reservoir moves and dissolves rapidly within the cell, thereby efficiently regulating the concentration of calcium and phosphorus ions in the microenvironment inside and outside the cell; for example, in vertebrates, calcium phosphate mainly constitutes the inorganic component of normal or pathological calcified tissues. As advanced animals, except for the inner ear, which is made of calcium carbonate minerals, the inorganic components of all other hard tissues in the body, such as bones and teeth, are minerals containing calcium phosphate.

Apply[3][2][4]

Tricalcium phosphate is a widely used chemical product. It is difficult to dissolve in water and ethanol and easily soluble in acid. It is commonly found in human bones and is one of the daily sources of calcium for organisms. . In the food field, it can be used as an anti-caking agent, pH adjuster, buffer, condiment, meat additive, etc.; in the medical field, β-tricalcium phosphate can be widely used in joint and spinal fusion, limb trauma, oral and maxillofacial diseases. Surgery, cardiovascular surgery, and filling of periodontal cavities, etc. It can be seen that tricalcium phosphate is widely used in daily life.

1. Medicine. Tricalcium phosphate has been used in clinical repair of bone defects since the 1970s. Tricalcium phosphate (TCP) also has good osteoinductivity and osteoconductivity without any cytotoxicity. Tricalcium phosphate material is a popular material studied among bone transplant materials in recent years. It is widely used in various bone damage repair research. Tricalcium phosphate is also an important component of many bone cements and bone repair materials currently used in clinical reports. In particular, bone cement is more widely used because it has a molecular crystal composition similar to that of normal bone tissue and good plasticity.

However, in actual clinical work, the application is relatively limited and requires many applicable conditions. As an implant material, although foreign body antigens have been physically and chemically inactivated, there are still varying degrees of rejection reactions after surgery, and severe cases Can lead to chronic osteomyelitis, resulting in poor long-term prognosis. These problems are all difficult problems that need to be solved in clinical research in the future. The chemical composition of tricalcium phosphate porous bioceramic bone composite raw materials is close to the inorganic components of bone. It has the characteristics of biocompatibility, good hydrophilicity, good mechanical strength, degradation and absorption in the body, tissue conduction, etc., and is non-toxic and non-toxic. Carcinogenic, no mutagenic and other adverse reactions. The study used environmental scanning electron microscopy to observe tricalcium phosphate porous bioceramics composite bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells, proving that this material has good biocompatibility and cell affinity. Tricalcium phosphate porous bioceramics have good porosity and tissue phase. It has good capacitance and has the ability to repair femoral head necrosis defects. In recent years, this surgical procedure has been adopted for patients with early-stage femoral head necrosis. Bones are harvested from the junction of the head and neck and biological bone materials are added as bone grafting materials to effectively avoid autologous iliac bone harvesting and its complications.

2. Food. Tricalcium phosphate is a safe nutritional fortifier, mainly added to food to enhance calcium intake, and can also be used to prevent or treat symptoms of calcium deficiency. At the same time, tricalcium phosphate can also be used as an anti-caking agent, pH regulator, buffer, etc. in food. Such as flour anti-caking agent (dispersant), milk powder, candy, pudding, condiments, meat additives, animal oil refining aids, yeast food, etc.

Preparation[4][5][6]

Method 1: A preparation method of food grade tricalcium phosphate, characterized by the following steps:

1) Mix calcium hydrogen phosphate and calcium powder at a ratio of 6.0 to 7.5:1 and calcine at high temperature at 1100℃-1℃, pressure 300-800MPa, time 3- After 8 hours, the tricalcium phosphate product is obtained;

2) Grind the tricalcium phosphate product through a grinder and enter the water for filtration to obtain tricalcium phosphate slurry, in which phosphoric acid Calcium mesh number 80~350;

3) Put the tricalcium phosphate slurry into an evaporation dryer for evaporation and drying. The evaporation temperature is 90-100℃, and the drying temperature is 70~115℃. The water in the tricalcium phosphate crystals vaporizes quickly, and the dried tricalcium phosphate crystals are separated by multi-stage cyclones: after system separation, they enter the storage hopper to obtain food grade tricalcium phosphate.
