The fact is that proper selection of a silicone polymer at a concentration of 5% or less will result in a formula that (1) reduces surface tension, (2) changes the feel, and (3) changes in gloss, making the product different from a formula without additives. This makes low concentrations of silicone polymers very valuable when formulating “new products.”
