Polydimethylsiloxane can be mixed with lanolin, stearyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, glyceryl monostearate, Tween, Span and other surfactants to be used as an emulsion base. Adding film-forming agents such as PVP, PVA and cellulose derivatives to this product can enhance its protective properties.
