The “silicon” contained in shampoo does not actually refer to silicon alone, but to dimethicone. (Dimethicone) is the common name for polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) which is liquid at room temperature. This substance is mainly responsible for smoothing hair. After using it I found that my hair felt great, smooth and soft and smelled lovely.
