Berg + Schmidt is now adding ceramides to its BergaCare SmartLipids range, which is on display in Barcelona. Valuable active ingredients help create a stronger, healthier skin barrier. SmartLipids are high-tech delivery systems for active substances in which active substances are embedded in lipid particles. They consist of a matrix containing a variety of liquid and solid lipids that protect the active ingredient from physical effects and prolong its stability.
Through diffusion, the active molecules continuously leave their lipid matrix when applied to the skin and therefore remain active over the long term. The lipid matrix itself is used to increase skin penetration of active substances and strengthen the natural skin barrier. Since lipids adhere well to the skin, the release of the substance is additionally prolonged.
