Distinguish between true and false sodium tripolyphosphate_Industrial additives

Sodium tripolyphosphate, also known as pentasodium phosphate, sodium pyrometaphosphate, STPP, pentasodium tripolyphosphate. White powdery crystal with good fluidity, relative molecular mass of 367.86, melting point of 622°C, easily soluble in water, and its aqueous solution is alkaline. It is often used in food as moisture retaining agent, quality improver, pH regulator stearic acid, and metal chelating agent.

Distinguish between true and false sodium tripolyphosphate

One: Appearance of sodium tripolyphosphate. Appearance is white granular or powder. Friends who have come into contact with high-quality sodium tripolyphosphate should know that it should feel like puffed granules or powder. If it falls apart when pinched and sticks to your hands, you need to be careful!

Two: Take clean water and dissolve an appropriate amount of Sodium Sichuan tripolyphosphate in the water. Genuine sodium tripolyphosphate solution should be clear and transparent. If the product you buy on a certain day appears cloudy after adding the same amount, please pay attention!

Third: Make some dilute soapy water and dissolve it in tap water to obtain a milky white turbid liquid (because the calcium and magnesium ions in tap water will form soap scum with soap), add sodium tripolyphosphate to it. If you add only a small amount, it will be fine. When the liquid becomes clear, it is real; if it remains unchanged after adding a lot, please pay attention!

Application

Sodium tripolyphosphate can be used in amino silicone oil emulsions such as ceramic bodies, ceramic glazes, and washing industries.
