Introduction to colour paste products and production processes

As we all know, the concept of colour paste was introduced to China by the American company Chromaflo and was first used in the field of water-based coatings. The colour paste we are talking about is strictly speaking a colour paste.

The following is the equipment used in the black paste workshop of the factory – twin screws. The products produced by the twin screws are not only evenly dispersed, but also have a good gloss.

As the twin screws rotate in the same direction at opposite speeds at the engagement, one screw has to pull the material into the engagement gap, while the other screw pushes the material out of the gap, resulting in the material moving from one screw to the other in an “∞” shape. As the gap in the engagement area is very small, the threads and grooves at the engagement have opposite velocities, so they have a high shear speed and a good self-cleaning effect, i.e. they can scrape away any accumulated material adhering to the screw, thus making the residence time of the material very short, so the meshing twin-screw extruder is mainly used for mixing and granulation.

This one is a hydraulic three-roller grinder in use in the colour paste workshop, which guarantees high fineness, good gloss and colouring power.

The hydraulic three-roller mill is mainly used to grind the colour paste by means of a double vane pump. The hydraulic pressure not only controls the double-vane pump, but it also regulates the access to the colouring slurry. The grinding process and the fineness of the slurry are also regulated by the hydraulic pressure. In short, the hydraulic three-roller grinder automates the grinding of the slurry mainly by means of hydraulics.

In addition, the company has its own R&D team with experimental sand mills, experimental mixers and experimental three-roller mills for experimental research.

Introduction to the slurries

First of all, our black colour pastes are divided according to the equipment used into pastes for conventional equipment, pastes for static machines and pastes for automatic lines. In addition, we also have two-component pastes and pastes for industrial adhesives.
Here are our colour pastes. The Big Red is now available in the highest grade of sunlight resistance and the newly introduced Eco Yellow, which is free of heavy metal ions, can be used with confidence. In addition, the red also contains the commonly used iron red, the yellow has orange chrome yellow, iron yellow and medium chrome yellow, the white has porcelain white and titanium white to choose from, and then there is also phthalo green and phthalo blue, all through the grinding machine to ensure that the product is particle-free.

We have passed SGS environmental monitoring to ensure that our products are green and environmentally friendly. In order to ensure the stability of our products, each batch of product is sampled and tested for appearance, fineness, colour, volatile content and consistency. The volatile content is within 0.8%, the fineness is below 25μm and the colour difference of each batch is less than 0.7.

For the colour paste, one of the key concerns is its colouring power, the following is a comparison chart, with the same amount of colour paste plus the same amount of base material and peer colour paste for comparison, you can see here the left colour is obviously darker than the right colour, where the products on the left are all made of Calor colour paste, the amount of colour paste added is less, and the same colouring effect is achieved.
