Sinochem News On November 7, Wacker Chemical Co., Ltd. announced that the company will expand the production capacity of fumed silica at its Burghausen production base and develop a line of hydrophobic fumed silica special products. The production line is expanded.

The investment in this expansion project is 1.4 million euros, and the production capacity of the production line will be increased by 40%. Construction of the expansion will begin early next year and is scheduled to be completed in the third quarter of 2017.
WACKER produces fumed silica products at its production sites in Burghausen and Nünchritz, Germany, and at its Zhangjiagang production site in China. Munich-based chemicals group WACKER is the world’s third-largest producer in this field. Hydrophobic specialty fumed silica products are used in printer toners.
