The second phase of the silane gas project with an annual output of 3,000 tons has an investment of 1 billion yuan, and the construction period is expected to be 14 months. After completion, Pingmei Shenma Group’s annual production capacity of high-purity silane will reach 3,600 tons, with production costs more than 30% lower than similar companies. The domestic market share will reach about 50%, with an annual output value of 2 billion yuan and a profit and tax of 300 million yuan.
High-purity silane has a wide range of applications and has huge room for development. In 2015, the global demand for silane was 12,000 tons, of which domestic demand was 5,000 tons, and import dependence was as high as 90%. It is expected that domestic silane demand will reach 8,000 tons by 2018, and China will become the fastest growing region in the global market.
In 2012, the group cooperated with Shanghai Jiaotong University and other units to establish Henan Silane Technology Development Co., Ltd. to develop high-purity silane products. In September 2014, the first phase of the project with an annual output of 600 tons of silane gas production line was put into operation, breaking the foreign technology monopoly and ending the history of all domestic products relying on imports. The product purity is 99.999999%, and the domestic market share reaches more than 10%. The company has become the only complete set of industrialized silane production technology enterprise in the country with completely independent intellectual property rights.
Next, the group will invest 5 billion yuan to build the third phase of the project – an annual production of 15,000 tons of high-purity silane gas, 10,000 tons of electronic grade polysilicon and 1,000 tons of regional melting grade polysilicon projects, striving to reach an output value of 2020. 10 billion yuan, with a total profit and tax of 2 billion yuan, becoming a scientific and technological innovation enterprise with international influence in this field.
