Preparation of (R)-2-(O-methyl)benzene-CBS-oxazoborane: R-diphenyl(pyrrolidin-2-yl)methanol from D-proline according to the following method (6). (R)-diphenyl(pyrrolidin-2-yl)methanol (6) is then treated with the corresponding tri-o-tolylboroxane 7 prepared from boronic acid (refluxed in toluene) to obtain the catalytic precursor (R)- 2-(O-Methyl)benzene-CBS-oxazoborane was stored in toluene under argon.
