Hexamethylphosphoric acid triamide is a weather-resistant solvent for polyvinyl chloride and an excellent polar solvent. It has a significant effect on low-temperature resistance and anti-aging of agricultural films; it is a multifunctional aprotic inert high-boiling point polar solvent. It has special effects as a solvent for polymer synthesis such as polyphenylene sulfide and aromatic polyamide. It is used as a cocatalyst for propylene bulk polymerization. Adding this potassium hydroxide product to ethylene-propylene rubber can improve elasticity. body and oil resistance. Hexamethylphosphoric acid triamide is also used as gas chromatography stationary liquid, purple light inhibitor, rocket fuel freezing point reducing additive, and chemical sterilant.

Production methods and others

Hexamethylphosphoryltriamide is obtained by reacting dimethylamine with alkali phosphorus oxychloride. React dimethylamine and phosphorus oxychloride in the solvent trioxyethylene, and control the temperature at 40-60°C. During the reaction, ammonia is added as an acid binding agent, which reacts with the generated hydrogen chloride to form ammonium chloride precipitate. After the reaction is completed, filter.
