Precautions for using trisodium phosphate_Industrial additives

Trisodium phosphate, colorless to white needle-like crystals or crystalline powder, melting point of dodecahydrate is 73.4°C. Soluble in water, its aqueous solution is strongly alkaline; insoluble in ethanol and carbon disulfide. It is one of the important product series in the phosphate industry. Due to its special properties, it is widely used in modern chemicals, agriculture and animal husbandry, petroleum, papermaking, detergents, ceramics and other fields.

Chemical properties

It easily deliquesces and weathers in dry air, producing sodium dihydrogen phosphate and sodium bicarbonate. It is almost completely decomposed into disodium hydrogen phosphate and sodium hydroxide in water. It becomes decahydrate when heated to 55-65°C, hexahydrate when heated to 60-100°C, and monohydrate when heated above 100°C. It becomes anhydrous when heated to above 212°C. The pH value of 1% aqueous solution is 11.5~12.1.

Product Usage

Used in chemical, textile, printing and dyeing, papermaking, power generation and other industries as water softeners and detergents, boiler anti-scaling agents, water softeners in paper dyeing, pH buffers for adhesives used in the production of wax paper, printing and dyeing Fixing agent for fabrics, mercerizing enhancer for fabrics, and anti-brittle agent for thread making. In the metallurgical industry, it is used for chemical degreasing and decontamination, and as an excellent accelerator in photographic developing solutions. Tooth cleaner and bottle detergent. Coagulant for rubber latex. Sugar Juice Purifier.

Solid trisodium phosphate (TSP) is a strong base and weak acid salt. It has strong alkalinity and high solubility. It has stable chemical properties and can be stored for a long time. It can be used in the spray water of the containment spray system (EAS). Adding TSP instead of NaOH can adjust the pH value of the spray liquid, effectively remove the iodine gas released from the leaked cooling water into the containment vessel, avoid damage to workers by strong alkali, and facilitate cleaning after the accident.

Precautions for use

1. After accidental contact with eyes, please rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.

2. Wear appropriate protective clothing, gloves and goggles or mask.

3. If you have an accident or feel unwell, seek medical attention immediately (show the label if possible).

Routes of entry: inhalation, ingestion

Health hazards: This product seriously damages mucous membranes, upper respiratory tract, eyes and skin. Inhalation can cause death due to spasm, inflammation and edema of the larynx and bronchus, chemical pneumonitis or pulmonary edema. Contact with conductive carbon black causes burning sensation, coughing, wheezing, laryngitis, shortness of breath, headache, nausea and vomiting.

First aid measures

Skin contact: Take off contaminated clothing and immediately rinse thoroughly with plenty of running water for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical attention.

Eye contact: Immediately open the upper and lower eyelids and rinse with running water or saline for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical attention.

Inhalation: Leave the scene quickly to fresh air. Keep your airway open. Give oxygen if breathing is difficult. Once breathing stops, begin CPR immediately. Seek medical attention.

Ingestion: If swallowed by mistake, rinse mouth immediately and give milk or egg white to drink. Seek medical attention.
