Sodium hexametaphosphate, white powder crystal, or colorless transparent glass flake or block solid. Easily soluble in water, insoluble in organic solvents. It is highly hygroscopic. It has a wide range of uses in both food and industrial fields.

Product Usage

1. The main applications in the food industry are:

Used in meat products, fish sausages, ham, etc., it can improve water holding capacity, increase binding properties, and prevent fat oxidation;

Used in bean paste and soy sauce, it can prevent discoloration, increase viscosity, shorten the fermentation period, and adjust the taste;

Used in fruit drinks and refreshing drinks, it can increase the juice yield, increase the viscosity, and inhibit the decomposition of vitamin C;

Used in ice cream, it can improve expansion capacity, increase volume, enhance emulsification, prevent paste damage, and improve taste and color;

Used in dairy products and beverages to prevent gel precipitation;

Adding it to beer can clarify the liquor and prevent turbidity;

Used in canned beans, fruits and vegetables, it can stabilize natural pigments and protect food color;

Sodium hexametaphosphate can be heated with sodium fluoride to produce sodium monofluorophosphate, which is an important industrial raw material;

Sodium hexametaphosphate is used as a water softener in the dyeing and finishing industry, as a highly efficient water softener for cooling water treatment in power stations, rolling stock, boilers and fertilizer plants, and as a cleaning agent in the fiber industry and bleaching and dyeing industries;

Sodium hexametaphosphate is also widely used as a scale inhibitor in Huntsman dye water treatment industries such as EDI (resin electrodialysis), RO (reverse osmosis), NF (nanofiltration);

Sodium hexametaphosphate is used as a flotation agent in the mineral processing industry. In the petroleum industry, it is used to prevent rust of drilling control pipes and control the viscosity of mud during oil drilling. It is also used in fabric printing and dyeing, leather, papermaking, and detergents. Additives, cement hardening accelerators, control or anti-corrosion agents, color films, soil analysis, radiochemistry, analytical chemistry and other departments also have certain uses. As refractory agents, they can inhibit the interaction between iron or iron compounds contained in refractory materials. The expansion phenomenon caused by the reaction of acidic chemical binders to produce hydrogen gas is a good refractory additive.
