Silicone gel in liquid form is also used in implants, but is usually not injected directly into the body. Typically, bag-like containers are made of silicone rubber and filled with silicone in liquid form. Different thicknesses of the outer layer give the bag different stiffnesses, making the implant suitable for different locations.
