Mica is a powder with a flaky structure. Therefore, when light hits its surface, specular reflection occurs instead of diffuse reflection like PMMA mentioned earlier. After applying eyeshadow, mica spreads across the skin’s surface. After being illuminated at different angles, part of the mica undergoes specular reflection, giving it a blingbling feel. It’s more straightforward if we look at large mica flakes. They are like sequins on a girl’s clothes, shining brightly.
