Dimethicone, also known as methyl silicone, polydimethylsiloxane liquid. It is a tasteless, odorless, non-toxic, colorless and transparent viscous liquid. Soluble in benzene, toluene, xylene and ether, partially soluble in ethanol, butanol and acetone, insoluble in cyclohexanol, methanol, paraffin oil and vegetable oil. It has excellent water-repellent and moisture-proof properties, good light transmittance and chemical stability.
Uses of Dimethicone
Dimethyl silicone oil is widely used in insulation, heat-resistant, moisture-proof fillers, efficient defoaming agents, release agents, lubricants and surface treatment agents. The industries involved include daily chemicals, rubber, plastics, latex and other industries, machinery, automobiles , electronic appliances, clothing, leather, pharmaceutical, food and other industries as well as some new material industries.
