Reviewing Skin Models Used in Personal Care Research: Types and Their Applications, Vivek Joshi, Applications and Market Adoption Manager at Merck, will discuss 3D skin models based on cell culture and irritation studies, as well as synthetic membrane models – Strat-M® membranes -For diffusion and epidermal water loss studies.
Dr. Silvia Pastor, Head of Scientific Research and Business Development at LipoTrue S.L., will discuss the topic “Deepening the Skin’s Microbiome to Unleash Anti-Aging Properties” and will reveal a unique and recently discovered active ingredient with anti-aging properties.
Silvia will be returning from outer space the next day to keep her skin hydrated, where she will demonstrate MARSturizer™ – a bacterial fermentation extract obtained from the Rio Tinto in Spain, which River has been called “Mars on Earth”.
Whether diluting, dissolving, suspending, homogenizing, dispersing or emulsifying, the mixing process in any formulation must be carefully studied for optimal results. Nesrin Hesso, process engineer at VMI, will present the topic of mixing technology in cosmetics and how to adapt mixing tools to cosmetics processes.
