Organosilicon compounds have been known since the 1860s, but it was not until Dr. Eugene RoChow innovated this important class of compounds in the 1940s that they were commercialized. After the 1950s, when Dow Corning Company in the United States launched the first silicon-containing product, silicone began to occupy an important position in daily cosmetics. Today, skin care, hair care, shampoo, and makeup products containing organosiloxanes has been recognized by people, and at the same time, more and more silicone compounds have been more widely used in the formulation of personal care products.
