Cetyldimethicone is an alkyl silicone specifically developed for good compatibility with a wide range of organic cosmetic ingredients. It provides excellent lubricity, shine and emollient properties to color cosmetic, skin care, sun care and hair care formulations.
Cetylsimethicone increases the effectiveness of UV filters in lotions. It helps reduce UV filter levels and maintain SPF. Cetyldimethicone shows SPF enhancing effects in an O/W emulsion containing 6% organic UV filter and 5% inorganic UV filter. Maximum SPF boosting effect is achieved by adding 0.5-1.0% cetylsimethicone to your sunscreen formula.
