How does the new hydrolyzed corn starch perform compared to PVP? -Cosmetic silicone oil manufacturer

IOTA’s research and development began with a series of basic comparative tests to evaluate the performance of a new hydrolyzed cornstarch – MaizeCare Style Polymer – against PVP, the dominant synthetic hair fixative on the market today. The aim was to compare two concentrations of these two polymers in the same standard hair styling gel formulation. Also included in these tests was a commercial benchmark product at a concentration of 2.8% PVP.

Stiffness Capability Comparison
IOTA’s hydrolyzed cornstarch has similar hardness to PVP at both 1% and 5% polymer activity levels. These results demonstrate that this polymer can act as a styling aid with film-forming properties ranging from a soft hand to excellent stiffness.
